Orange Man has a fondness for dictators, nationalism and absolute power, and he hates the free press or anyone who opposes him.  Orange Man thinks he is above the law.  Orange Man and his enablers pose a risk to democracy and our country.  I would much prefer to write songs about love and nature, but these are dangerous times and if you love liberty and justice you should be speaking out against Orange Man.  Resist.  Remember to vote.  Only We the People can save the republic.

UPDATE, March 18, 2025:  I wrote this song during Trump's first term in January 2018.  The song was originally released July 4, 2018.  This song is perhaps even more relevant today than when I composed it in 2018.  Trump is systematically attacking and disrupting the core elements of our republic:  a free press, freedom of speech, observance of the law and the courts, a Federal government with three equal branches, respect and observance of the U.S. Constitution, not to mention simple human decency.  As a composer all I can do is try to speak truth to power in a way that gets your toes tapping which may help you remember the message:  please work to help save the republic.  This is a dangerous time and our actions now may determine whether we become an autocracy or remain a democracy.  Get involved---do something.  Contact your local Indivisible group and volunteer.  Vote with your wallet---don't give money to fascists.  Dump your Nazi mobile, cancel your X account.  Small steps can make a difference but only if enough of us take that small step.
