I am a robot
Programmed to write this song
My chips cannot create
Only steal human art

Trained me with Aretha
Beatles and Mozart
They're in my memory
But I never feel a spark

Can't play like Jimi
Can't play like Elton, no
Trying to find a groove
But I ain't got no soul

Trained me with Motown
Taylor Swift and Jack White
Intro, verse, chorus, bridge
Were my sounds programmed right?

Artificial intelligence (AI) has invaded the arts and can now be used to compose music. I think this is a bad idea. The AI software does not actually create something new, it steals little bits from all the music used to train it. Some will say, isn't that what human composers do. In a way yes, all artists are influenced by others, but I do not think chips and circuits will ever be able to create something with soul. I do not think we will ever see AI versions of Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, U2, Jack White, or Emmylou Harris.

The music industry suits want AI music because a computer won't talk back and be a pain in the ass, and they won't have to pay it royalties. They will get to keep all the money for themselves. That is not art. It is total control and greed. Unplug the computer because I don't want robot music.
